Venue review, Gambaro Hotel, Brisbane
Thanks to Marie Edwards, Iceberg Events & Travel we had the opportunity to view the Brisbane Restaurateurs latest venture, The Gambaro Hotel.
Gambaro Seafood Restaurant Brisbane is an icon. Located in Caxton Street at Paddington, is the restaurant that I aspired to be rich enough so that I could eat there on a regular basis! It was the 80’s and Caxton Street was the place to be seen, and Gambaro’s was the restaurant to be seen at.
Fast forward to 2017 and the Gambaro Hotel has emerged above the restaurant and is the ideal spot for guests attending events in and around this popular destination. In the heart of the precinct is the famous Suncorp Stadium. Caxton Street is still known for its great vibe around game time, particularly State of Origin, and is bustling with people when the super stars come to town.
As a conference and event hotel, Gambaro Hotel is ideal for anyone wanting to make sure that the food is the top of the priority list. The multi award winning restaurant is still on the top of all the “must do” lists, and as a family business, this care and attention to clients is evident in everything they produce.
Our visit took in a couple of the function rooms that had beautiful open balconies overlooking Caxton Street and the Stadium. The canapes were as good as I expected with not only quality fresh ingredients, but decent sizes as well. The staff were exceptionally well presented, friendly and professional, and very accommodating.
We viewed the Paddington Deluxe and the JG Suite, both rooms of ample size and exceptional quality. Dark and brooding features added a warmth to the rooms – something that is hard to achieve in a standard size hotel room. The JG Suite was my favourite room and perfect for pre-dinner gatherings with friends. And with 2 suites, the JG and MG, perfect for the bride and groom to settle in with their family and bridal party, prior to saying “I do”.
Delicious food, delightful staff and designer décor – Gambaro Hotel is a perfect location for business, pleasure or that big day – be it game day or wedding day! Satisfying guests lists in the under 100 vicinity, The Gambaro Hotel is definitely back on my list of places I need to be seen at!
